Hi, I’m Marie!
A lifestyle, portrait, and event photographer.
I've had a camera in my hands in one form or another for nearly 20 years, and without a doubt, that number will never stop climbing.
Photography started for me growing up in Chico, California, where I was surrounded by the trails, trees, and wide-open spaces of Upper Bidwell Park. I started taking on photo-clients when I was just 16, but even after all these years, some of my favorite photos are still the ones I take for no reason other than thinking, I want to remember that.
A great hang with friends. A beautiful floofy cloud. The details someone spent hours putting together for a celebration. A family laughing between the photos they thought they were posing for. An interesting building, a room full of people, or probably one of my many houseplants.
I'm drawn to the little things.
That's still at the heart of how I photograph today. I want your photos to look beautiful, of course, but I also want them to feel familiar. I'll give you direction when you need it, but I don't expect everyone to suddenly become a model when a camera comes out. If the kids would rather run around, we'll run around. If your partner isn't comfortable posing, we'll find ways to get you interacting together instead. And when I'm photographing an event, I'm paying attention to what's happening around the main attraction too.
My goal is to notice the people, interactions, and details that make the moment yours, and photograph them in a way you'll be glad to come back to years from now.
When I'm Not Behind The Camera...
I'm usually surrounded by plants. And I mean surrounded. I'm a proud houseplant lady, perpetual propagator, and firm believer that I always need another one.
I traded my hometown of Chico, California, for Tennessee in 2023 when my husband, Saxon, and I moved to the Nashville area. These days, Gallatin is home, and I've loved discovering new places to explore around Middle Tennessee. I'm happiest outside, have recently gotten back into cycling, and will probably always be playing some form of Pokémon game or growing my plushie and TCG collections.
Cultivating community is also a huge part of my life. I love serving at my home church, The Warehouse Fellowship here in Gallatin, where I volunteer with communications, media, and the worship team. I've had the privilege of photographing so many meaningful moments there over the past few years, too. What an absolute honor!
Marie's Eye for the Details
Photography isn't the only place I've learned to pay attention to the details. I've spent more than 15 years working professionally in e-commerce and marketing, where I currently manage creative projects, visual content, websites, and many of the moving pieces that bring them all together. Along the way, I've also had the opportunity to bring my photography experience into my professional work through product shoots and coordinating larger, multi-day photoshoots from planning through execution.
That experience has shaped the way I approach my own photography business, especially when working with events and professional clients. I understand that great images need to be more than beautiful. Communication matters. Organization matters. Reliability matters. And sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference.
