You don't need to know how to pose, have perfectly behaved kids, or know exactly what you want before reaching out. My job is to help with the details, give direction when it's useful, and leave plenty of room for the real moments to happen.
Whether I'm photographing your family, a room full of people celebrating together, or a professional event, I want the experience to feel comfortable, easy, and true to what's happening in front of me.

What to expect

SAY HELLO
Fill out my contact form with what you have in mind, your preferred date, and any details you already know. Don't worry if you don't have everything figured out yet. We'll talk through it together.

PLAN THE DETAILS
Once we've found the right session for you, we'll finalize the location, timing, session details, contract, and deposit. For portraits, I can also help you think through locations and what will photograph well.
03.
SESSION DAY
This is the fun part. I'll give direction when it's helpful, but you won't spend the entire time holding poses. We'll talk, move around, laugh, and leave room for the natural interactions and little details I love capturing.
04.
YOUR photos
I'll carefully edit your final images and deliver them through an online gallery ready to view, download, and share. Portrait galleries are typically delivered within about two weeks, and event galleries within 3 weeks.

FAQ
I've never had professional photos taken. What should I expect?
Photos are for everyone! There is absolutely no experience required. You don't need to show up knowing how to pose or what to do with your hands. I'll give you direction when you need it, but we'll also talk, move around, and leave plenty of room for natural interactions. My goal is for the experience to feel comfortable and for your photos to actually feel like you.
Where do sessions take place?
I primarily photograph portraits outdoors using natural light throughout Gallatin, Hendersonville, Nashville, and the surrounding area. We'll choose a location that works well for your session, whether that's a favorite place of yours or somewhere I recommend. Middle Tennessee is full of beautiful locations to choose from!
What should we wear?
Start with something that feels like you! Comfortable clothing photographs much better than an outfit you're constantly adjusting or don't feel like yourself in. Coordinating colors and textures usually work better than perfectly matching outfits. If you'd like to incorporate a pattern, larger patterns tend to photograph better than small, busy ones. And if you're unsure, I'm always happy to offer some general guidance before your session.
What if my kids have too much energy?
Then we'll work with it! Kids don't need to sit perfectly still and smile at the camera for an entire session. If they need to move, explore, laugh, or take a minute, that's completely okay. Some of my favorite photos happen in those in-between moments anyway.
My partner hates having their photo taken. Can you help?
Absolutely. Most people aren't completely comfortable in front of a camera, and I don't expect you to suddenly become a model when I pull mine out. I'll give you some direction, keep things moving, and focus more on getting you interacting with each other than holding an awkward pose.

What areas do you serve?
I'm based in Gallatin, TN and primarily serve Gallatin, Hendersonville, and Nashville. I may also be available for sessions and events in nearby Middle Tennessee communities depending on the location and project, so feel free to ask!
What types of events do you photograph?
I photograph a variety of gatherings and events, including family reunions, baby and bridal showers, graduation and anniversary celebrations, concerts, company parties, networking events, grand openings, conferences, and more. If you're planning something that isn't listed, send me the details and we can see if I'm the right fit.
Do you photograph pets?
Absolutely! Pets are family too. Just let me know ahead of time so we can choose a pet-friendly location and plan accordingly.
Do you photograph weddings?
I don't currently offer wedding photography. I'm happy to photograph many of the celebrations surrounding this season of life, including couples sessions, engagement portraits, and bridal showers, but full wedding-day coverage isn't currently part of my services.
Do you photograph newborns?
I don't currently specialize in traditional newborn photography or posed newborn sessions. Depending on what you're looking for, I may be able to help with a more natural family or maternity session. Feel free to reach out and tell me what you have in mind.
How far in advance should I book?
I'd recommend reaching out as soon as you know you'd like photos, especially for weekends and during the busy fall and spring seasons. My availability varies throughout the year, so the earlier we start planning, the better chance we'll have of securing your preferred date.
How do I reserve a session date?
Once we've talked through the details and decided we're a good fit, I'll send over your contract and deposit information. Your date is officially reserved once your signed contract and deposit have been received.
When is the remaining balance due?
Your remaining session balance is due on the day of your scheduled session or event.
How long will it take to receive my photos?
Portrait galleries are typically delivered within approximately two weeks of your session. Event galleries are typically delivered within approximately three weeks of your event. You'll receive your finished images through an online gallery where you can view, download, order prints, and share your photos.
What happens if it rains?
For outdoor portrait sessions, I'll keep an eye on the forecast as your session approaches. Tennessee weather likes to keep us guessing, so if conditions aren't going to cooperate, we'll talk through our options of moving to an indoor location or rescheduling when necessary.
